Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has expressed concern at the detention of one of the church’s pastors abroad.
He stated that the preacher was detained for addressing people in attendance at a “Ladies and gentlemen” presentation.
According to him, the remark was deemed discriminatory since it did not include all of the genders associated with their culture.
The pastor said this at the church’s monthly thanksgiving ceremony on Sunday at the RCCG’s Throne of Grace in Lagos State.
His speech, titled “My Father’s House,” was transmitted to all parishes in the church.
“The end is nearer than you realize. Things are worsening, and this is a wake-up call. One of my pastors abroad was imprisoned for addressing a crowd as ‘ladies and gentlemen.’
“Some people reported him for discrimination, asking, ‘What about those who are neither ladies nor gentlemen?'” he told me.
