
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, or IPMAN, has encouraged Nigerians to avoid panic purchasing, assuring them that there is adequate gasoline in the nation.
Mr Ukadike Chinedu, IPMAN’s Publicity Secretary, announced this on Sunday in Abuja.
Chinedu praised the Dangote Petroleum Refinery for lowering the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), generally known as petrol, to N899.50 per liter.
According to him, the gesture will assist Nigerians save money on transportation in preparation for the Christmas season.
“That’s the beauty of deregulation. Prices are determined by market forces.
“With the Dangote and Federal Government refineries in operation, this will bring about competitive pricing,” Chinedu said the crowd.
He asked all IPMAN members to alter their pump prices to attract more customers.
