Denzel Washington, 69, has acquired his minister’s license as he transitions into a new phase of his life.
Washington just confessed that one cannot discuss religion in Hollywood.
According to Fox News Digital, Archbishop Christopher Bryant baptized Washington in the Kelly Temple in New York City on Saturday.
“After a long wait, I’ve arrived…”According to Bryant, Washington stated that if God can accomplish this for him, He can do anything for you. “The sky literally is the limit.”
Bryant also shared images of the moment Washington committed his life to Christ on Facebook.
“We celebrate the addition of Minister Denzel Washington into the clergy, having received his minister’s license in the Church of God in Christ today, in a truly uplifting moment,” according to the post.
Washington recently stated that you “can’t talk” about religion in the sector.
“When you see me, you see the best I could do with what I’ve been given by my lord and savior,” the very “Gladiator II” actor told Esquire. “I’m unafraid.”
“I don’t care what people think. Speaking of fear, you cannot talk like that and win an Oscar. You cannot talk like that and party. “You can’t say that in this town,” Washington concluded.
“I am free now. It isn’t talked about in this community. It is not talked about. It is not talked about. It is not fashionable. It is not sexy. However, this does not imply that Hollywood professionals do not believe.
“There is no such thing as Hollywood anyway. What exactly does that mean? That to me refers to a boulevard named Hollywood Boulevard,” he wrote.
However, the Academy Award-winning actor does not know how many other performers believe in God.
“It’s not like we all get together and debate our beliefs. So, I do not know how many other actors have faith. I didn’t do any poll. How would I find that out? I mean, there’s no Church Actor Meetings I’ve been to.”
Washington landed his breakthrough role in the medical drama “St. Elsewhere” in 1982. He earned multiple nominations for his work on the show and eventually was able to break into film.
Washington is known for films such as “Fences,” “Training Day,” “The Book of Eli,” “Cry Freedom” and “Malcom X.”
