
Nigeria has expressed its condolences to Turkey’s government and people following the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Resort, which killed 76 people.
Kimiebi Ebienfa, the interim spokeswoman for Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made this remark on Wednesday.
“The Federal Republic of Nigeria wants to offer its heartfelt condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Turkey following the terrible fire event at the Grand Kartal Hotel at the Kartalkaya Ski Resort.
“The fire, which killed 76 people and wounded over 50 others in Bolu Province in Northwestern Turkey, was said to have begun in the early hours of Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria sympathises with the Government of the Republic of Turkiye and the families of the victims of the fire incident, and also wishes a speedy recovery of the injured,” the statement said.
