Witnesses for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) testified on Tuesday regarding alleged irregularities in Edo’s governorship election on September 21, 2024, in three local government districts.
The PDP and its election candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, are challenging INEC’s announcement of Gov. Monday Okpebholo of the APC as the winner.
One of the witnesses, Kennedy Osifo, was led in evidence by Abiodun Owonikoko, PDP counsel in the matter, and presented agents with copies of the election results for 76 polling units in Ward II of the state’s Ikpoba Okha local government area, where he identified four voting abnormalities.
According to him, the anomalies were discovered when the agents’ copies were compared to verified authentic copies of the BVAS accreditation report results obtained from INEC’s IREV platform.
He stated that the disparities had been identified in his sworn witness statement, which he requested the tribunal to accept as evidence in the case.
