
The death toll from a horrific road accident that occurred on Wednesday around 2pm along Okposi-Amasiri Road involving a group of 2024 Batch C Stream 2 corps members on their way to Orientation camp in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has climbed to four.
According to report the tragedy included an Enugu North Mass Transit that collided with a stalled vehicle on the Okposi axis in Ohaozara LGA, killing and injuring several people.
According to a statement issued late Thursday evening by David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital in Uburu, the disaster claimed the lives of four people.
At least thirteen people were brought to the hospital, where two died from their injuries.
Two were moved to the surgical ward, while the others were admitted to the accident and emergency ward.
Meanwhile, one corps member escaped unharmed, while the driver suffered severe cervical injuries.
The survivors are claimed to be healing, and medical authorities are optimistic about their chances of complete recovery.
