The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has established a mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for students under the age of sixteen.

Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, emphasized that the mock UTME is not intended for higher institution entrance, but rather for underage students to assess their abilities.

Oloyede remarked on Sunday during a meeting with media executives in Lagos, where he also revealed that this year’s UTME will take place March 8, 2025.

“We will begin selling forms on January 31st and continue until March 5th. The JAMB Registrar said that a mock exam would be held on February 23rd, followed by the UTME on March 8th.

Oloyede stated that the JAMB will only introduce a mock trial-testing examination this year.

He said that the mock-trial-testing examination is for those who would not be eligible for admission to universities, polytechnics, or institutes of education because they are under the age of sixteen.

He stated that in order to write the UTME and get admission to universities, polytechnics, or institutes of education, candidates must be 16 years old on or before September 30.
