Amidst the country’s current economic challenges, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nysome Wike, has urged Nigerians to stay calm and patient with President Bola Tinubu.
Wike made the call on Wednesday in Ibadan, during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, following the death of his elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde.
The FCT minister highlighted that President Tinubu’s programs are genuinely geared at improving the nation.
Wike, who was accompanied by former governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Samuel Ortom of Benue, stated, “I have always advised people to be patient with this government.
“This country has experienced great obstacles in the past, and it is critical to acknowledge the accomplishments we have accomplished. Nigerians frequently forget where they were and the efforts made to improve their circumstances.”
He asked the people to appreciate that this transition for it is necessary for long-term benefits.
He says, “There is no such thing as a miracle solution. The measures that Mr. President is implementing are intended to benefit all Nigerians.
“Although we may have to face some difficulties now, we should not panic. Mr. President sincerely cares about our country, and I can guarantee you that brighter days are ahead.”
Wike offered his condolences to the Makinde family and stressed the need of solidarity during times of mourning.
He expressed emotional sympathy to the family, reminding them that they are not alone in their grief and emphasizing that as friends, they stand with the family during this terrible time.
“In this moment of profound loss, we are here to offer our love and solidarity,” Wike told the crowd.
