Human rights attorney Dele Farotimi is experiencing judicial and legal terrorism, according to Chidi Odinkalu, the former chairman of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission.
Odinkalu claimed that because Farotimi is being held captive, he will not be undergoing what he called a legal trial.
He said this Thursday on X Space in an interview hosted by Omoyele Sowore.The former head of the NHRC described Farotimi’s predicament as a “hostage-taking” situation in which injustice is being sustained by the legality justification.
“That has to end. Let’s train our thoughts on the judiciary and the law to end it. All the other details can follow up,” he remarked. Dele is one of the numerous Nigerians who are being held captive by the government.
“Dele is experiencing judicial terrorism and legal terrorism rather than a court trial. This is hostage-taking with a legal justification.
“On behalf of Nigerians who are currently experiencing it, we will present that argument with rigor and vigor across the board.”
In his 104-page book “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice,” Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Afe Babalola, allegedly accused Farotimi of defaming him, reports GREEN MAX.
In Lagos State, Farotimi was arrested after the elder statesman petitioned the Ekiti State Police Command.
After filing the petition, Farotimi was later charged in an Ado Ekiti Magistrate Court.
