Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated that his club is in “a really nice position” in the Champions League following their 3-0 victory against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.
Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Martin Odegaard scored to help the Gunners cruise to victory at the Emirates.
The win keeps Arteta’s team in third place in the league stage, with just a trip to Girona remaining.
Arsenal only need a point from the game against the LaLiga side to be assured of finishing in the top eight spots and avoiding the play-offs.
“Very happy overall. It’s a massive step, what we’ve done tonight,” Arteta told reporters after the game.
“It’s put us in a really nice position before we play the last game in Girona.
“Scoring three goals creating plenty of chances and dominating the game. And not conceding a shot, and another clean sheet at home.
“Overall, we’re really happy.”
