The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai of ineptitude.
The APC said that Atiku, Obi, and El-Rufai have demonstrated gross incompetence and incapacity to run their own business.
According to a statement issued by APC spokesman Felix Morka, Nigerians cannot be sidetracked by desperate politicians seeking prominence ahead of 2027.
Morka criticized Atiku’s claim of court involvement in Nigerian electoral problems, noting that he is the country’s most prolific electoral litigant.
According to Morka, “It is ironic that Atiku, Nigeria’s most prolific electoral litigator, would make such a ludicrous claim that judicial interference in electoral matters is a threat to democracy.”
“His criticism of the courts and the democratic process is hollow, considering his long history of utilizing the courts to advance his political agenda. It’s time for him to step back and allow the democratic process play out without his involvement.
“Nigeria’s democracy far outweighs Atiku’s political ambitions. An elder statesman’s petty politicking and alarming statements are unacceptable.
“As a senior politician, Atiku should understand that, while democracy is about winning elections, it is also about respecting the will of the public and working for the greater good of all.
“Atiku should focus on rebuilding his party and proposing constructive solutions to Nigeria’s problems.”
“The bizarre suggestion by opposition figures like Atiku, Peter Obi, and recently, aggrieved leaders like Mallam Nasir El-Rufai that our great Party may be complicit in the internal corrosion of opposition parties is pitiful, and only serves as an incompetent excuse for their blatant failure to manage their own affairs.” They cannot run their party yet claim to be able to lead Africa’s most populated country.
“As discerning citizens, Nigerians know better than to be distracted by the false alarm and hollow allegations of desperate politicians whose only goal is shore up their political relevance in the build up to 2027 general elections.”
