President Joe Biden has pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley, and other individuals who some believe would face investigations under the new Trump government.
Biden’s pardons came only hours before he is scheduled to leave the White House and President-elect Donald Trump takes the oath of office once more.
According to Fox News, the pardon also extends to a large number of persons participating in the January 6 select committee probe.
“The pardon extends to members of Congress and personnel who worked on the Select Committee, as well as officers from the United States Capitol and the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department who testified before the Select Committee.
“These are extraordinary circumstances, and I can’t in good faith do nothing.
“Baseless and politically driven investigations jeopardize the lives, safety, and financial security of targeted individuals and families.
“Alarmingly, public servants have been subjected to ongoing threats and intimidation for faithfully discharging their duties,” the vice president said in a statement.
