Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State, has rejected claims he is planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).
El-Rufai told this to media on Tuesday at the venue of the just ended National Conference in Abuja.
“I will not leave the APC. El-Rufai stated, “I don’t have such plans.”
When questioned why he was harsh on the ruling party, he responded, “No, no, no; I want them to change.”
On Monday, El-Rufai attacked the APC, accusing it of abandoning its core ideals and encouraging incompetent leadership.
He stated, “I no longer recognise the APC.” There has been no meeting of any party institution in two years, including the caucus and NEC.
“You don’t even know if it is a one-man show; it’s a zero-man show.”
In response to El-Rufai’s comments, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communications and Media, questioned the former governor’s position.
Bwala questioned if the former governor would have had the same position if he had remained in office or cabinet.
“My senior brother, if you were in the administration and cabinet, would you have maintained and articulated the same position? History is full of examples.
“You want to overthrow a government that you helped establish. Bwala wrote, “Haba, Mallam.”
