The Federal Government has designated Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, made the news on Monday in a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary.

Tunji-Ojo offered his greetings to Nigerians, asking them to embrace the season’s principles of love, peace, and togetherness.

“The Christmas season is an excellent opportunity for both spiritual reflection and national regeneration. “As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us show kindness and goodwill to one another, regardless of our differences,” Tunji-Ojo added.

He emphasized the importance of Nigerians strengthening familial and communal relationships, which promotes harmony and contributes to national progress.

Tunji-Ojo assured Nigerians of the government’s devotion, saying, “The Federal Government is committed to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the nation.”

He expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will propel the country to a more affluent 2025.
