Kefilwe Mabote, a South African media star, has revealed why she burned her pricey designer garments after committing her life to Christ.
The media star recently sparked a sensation by posting a video of herself burning her pricey clothing.
Many had chastised her for destroying the clothing rather than distributing them to the needy.
In a fresh Instagram post, Mabote revealed that she chose to burn the clothing because the bible says they are “accursed.”
She added, “I’ve received concerns regarding why I opted to burn Versace products rather than give them away, and I’d want to take a time to explain with care and empathy.
“The decision to destroy the objects stemmed from a strong conviction. According to the Bible, such items are ‘accursed’ (see Joshua 7:13 for background). For example, the depiction of Medusa depicts a Greek god from the aquatic domain, and as Christians, we cannot serve two masters. Giving these stuff away would be to pass on something I no longer stand for, and I can’t in good conscience transfer things that I know carry deep spiritual implications.”
