Karen Carney, a former England international, has claimed that Manchester United only has one ‘world-class’ player in their squad.
Manchester United beat Fulham 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday at Craven Cottage.
Lisandro Martinez scored the sole goal of the game in the second half after a deflected shot found the back of the net.
It was the Red Devils’ second league victory since the Manchester Derby in mid-December.
The win moves Ruben Amorim’s team up to 12th in the Premier League, twelve points below the Champions League positions.
However, Carney says Man United’s recent troubles should not be surprising given that they only have one ‘world-class’ player in Bruno Fernandes, adding that it is startling.
When asked where Manchester United would be without their club captain, Carney told TNT Sports, “Manchester United supporters don’t want to think about that.
“He may be the only world-class player on their squad, which is scary to think about. He’s critical for them; he’s world-class.”
Fernandes has 59 goals and 47 assists in 183 Premier League outings since joining the Premier League club from Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
