On Monday, an Oyo State High Court sitting at Ring Road granted bail to Naomi Silekunola, the ex-queen of Ife.
The bail also applied to Oriyomi Hamzat, a broadcaster and CEO of Agidigbo Radio FM in Ibadan, and Abdulahi Fasasi, Principal of Islamic High School.
Justice K.B Olawoyin presided over Court 8 and issued the verdict in response to a bail plea filed by the trio’s attorney.
The Judge imposed five conditions on the bond, including N10 million and two sureties who must provide valid documentation within the court’s jurisdiction.
Other requirements include the applicants having to surrender their foreign passports with the court and being forbidden from conducting any type of interview while the case is pending.
The defendants have been in jail custody since December 24, when they were arrested by police.
The Oyo State Government had filed eight counts bordering on murder and manslaughter against the trio over the December 18, 2024 funfair stampede, during which 35 children died.
