The Adamawa State Police Command and local security agencies have dislodged a hideaway of suspected kidnappers, killing one of them.

In an operation aimed at reactivating its internal control mechanism to prevent kidnappings, police raided a known kidnapper’s hideout in Ngurore, a hamlet in Yola South Local Government Area.

“The criminals who were armed with offensive weapons, upon sighting our gallant men attempted to resist arrest thereby opening fire to scare our men but when the fire shots were returned, one of them was down while others escaped,” according to a statement issued by the police.

According to a statement filed by Police Public Relations Officer Suleiman Nguroje, the investigation resulted in the recovery of one AK-47 rifle and five rounds of live ammunition.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, commended the bold step taken by the officers and men of the command and their stakeholders,” the commander wrote.

It urged greater cooperation in locating and apprehending fugitive offenders.
