Dogara Akolo Moses, a police constable with the Nasarawa Police Command, allegedly committed suicide for unexplained reasons.
On the day of the occurrence, February 4, 2025, Moses was spotted by colleagues performing his routine responsibilities at the Mada Divisionz in Nasarawa Eggon LGA.
He was believed to have later shot himself in one of the offices, leaving no suicide note.
Many of his colleagues and sympathizers were shocked by the tragedy, given the cause of his suicide is unknown.
The cop was alleged to have gone into a secluded room and shot himself, while the sound of the pistol drove all officers on duty to run to the scene—only to meet the deceased lying in the pool of his blood.
SP Ramhan Nansel, a police spokesman in Nasarawa State, confirmed the event and stated that the Command was working diligently to investigate the officer’s death.
According to him, an inquiry is underway to identify the cause of the officer’s actions.
