The Federal Government has established the National Health Fellows Programme to foster transformative change in Nigeria’s health sector.
Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, said in a statement on Wednesday that the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative SWAp Coordination Office, which is part of the ministry, is spearheading the initiative, which will last one year.
He stated that the initiative’s goal is to draw professionals from a variety of fields, including health, information technology, and social sciences, in order to develop a new generation of health-care leaders.
Prof. Ali Pate, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, stated, “This prestigious programme will bring together a cohort of emerging professionals from various disciplines, including health and health-related, information technology, and social sciences.”
He invited interested Nigerian professionals to apply through the official portal before 27th of January 2025.
The minister noted that applicants must meet the program’s qualifications and complete the online application procedure, and that shortlisted individuals will be contacted with additional information about the next steps.
