Jamiu Omoniyi, the Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, stated on Monday that the recently completed Phase I of the Gateway Aviation Village in Iperu-Remo created over 5,000 jobs.
Omoniyi added that the initiative also pumped at least N700 million in daily pay to workers at the housing estate during a six-month period, thereby bolstering the state economy.
He also stated that plans are in full swing to begin the second phase of the aviation village, which would include 200 dwelling units by the end of the first quarter of the year.
The Commissioner made the announcement while reviewing the first phase of the Gateway Aviation Village, which has 100 dwelling units in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government.
He added that Phase I of the housing development is completely sold out, with all necessary amenities, such as drainage systems, roads, electrical fittings, and security, already in place and of high quality. He noted that customers can start moving into their new apartments in around two days.
Omoniyi stated, “For the first phase of the Gateway Aviation Village, there is a 75,000-liter water reservoir capacity here to serve this estate. The road network is 98% complete, and according to the handler, the entire estate will be tarred by this time tomorrow.
“This suggests that by Wednesday, the occupants of this estate can move in and begin to live in the estate because every facility that is required for a comfortable life has been provided by the government of Governor Dapo Abiodun.”
The Commissioner disclosed that the housing estate was designed to support those working and doing business around the nearly completed Gateway International Airport along Iperu/Ilisan Road, adding that it is part of the government’s deliberate plan to open up Remo development clusters.
