Donald Trump, the recently inaugurated 47th President of the United States of America, issued an executive order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency.
This was verified in a White House statement on Tuesday, which provided specifics about the presidential action.
As a result, the executive order said that DOGE will “implement the President’s DOGE Agenda by modernising federal technology and software to maximise governmental efficiency and productivity.”
This means that the US Digital Service has been renamed US DOGE Service.
“Reorganisation and renaming of the US Digital Service. The United States Digital Service is hereby renamed the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and will be based in the President’s Executive Office,” the statement states in part.
Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X and Tesla who now serves as one of the heads of DOGE, responded, saying, “There will be meaningful progress every week.”
